The shirt also includes built-in Omni-Shade sunblock that protects you even further from the sun's harsh rays.

The Freezer short-sleeve tee keeps you cool during fishing trips.
About Columbia's Omni Technologies
This garment is outfitted with Columbia's Omni-Shade and Omni-Freeze technologies. Columbia's Omni-Shade clothing protects you from damaging UV radiation by blocking the majority of the sun's harmful rays, letting you stay out longer on sunny days. Unlike SPF (Sun Protection Factor)--which is a measure of sunburn reduction from sunblock and protects you from UVA rays--Columbia's Omni-Shade products are far more versatile, combining a tight-weave construction, UV reflectors, and UV absorbing technology. These features not only prevent sunburns and long-term skin damage, but they also protect the wearer from UVB rays in addition to UVA rays. UVB rays are much more harmful than UVA, and are present even on cloudy days. Plus, Omni-Shade doesn't wear off. Instead, your safety increases as the Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) increases. Several layers of Omni-Shade protection are available: UPF 15, UPF 30, UPF 40, and UPF 50-plus. It's like sunscreen, but you don't have to reapply. All Omni-Shade fabric carries the Skin Cancer Foundation's Seal of Recommendation, which is given to sun-protective fabrics that have a minimum UPF of 30.

Omni-Freeze garments consist of specially shaped flat yarns that facilitate the release of heat, and feel cooler to the touch, during warm weather and active outdoor adventures. The specifically shaped yarns, when woven or knit together, create Omni-Freeze, which transfers heat from a surface at a faster rate than traditional fabric.

Features:

  • Construction: 100-percent polyester pique
  • Omni-Shade sun protection: UPF 30
  • Omni-Freeze advanced cooling
  • Cooling yarns
  • Quick dry

About Columbia Sportswear
Founded in 1938, Columbia Sportswear Company has grown from a small family-owned hat distributor to one of the world's largest outerwear brands and the leading seller of skiwear in the United States. Columbia's extensive product line includes a wide variety of outerwear, sportswear, rugged footwear and accessories. Columbia specializes in developing innovative products that are functional yet stylish and offer great value. Eighty-year-old matriarch Gert Boyle, Chairman of the Board, and her son, Tim Boyle, President and CEO, lead the company.

Columbia's history starts with Gert's parents, Paul and Marie Lamfrom, when they fled Germany in 1937. They bought a small hat distributorship in Portland, Oregon, and named it Columbia Hat Company, after the river bordering the city. Soon frustrated by poor deliveries from suppliers, the Lamfroms decided to start manufacturing products themselves. In 1948, Gert married college sweetheart Neal Boyle, who joined the family business and later took the helm of the growing company. When Neal suddenly died of a heart attack in 1970, Gert enlisted help from Tim, then a college senior. After that it wasn't long before business really started to take off. Columbia was one of the first companies to make jackets from waterproof/breathable fabric. They introduced the breakthrough technology called the Columbia Interchange System, in which a shell and liner combine for multiple wearing options. In the early 1980s, then 60 year-old Gert began her role as "Mother Boyle" in Columbia's successful and popular advertising campaign.

The company went public in 1998 and moved into a new era as a world leader in the active outdoor apparel industry. Today, Columbia Sportswear employs more than 1,800 people around the world and distributes and sells products in more than 50 countries and to more than 12,000 retailers internationally.

You don’t want a sweat-soaked tee to distract you while you’re trying to bring in the big one. Luckily, our innovative Omni-Freeze® advanced cooling fabric is knit with cooling flat yarns for faster heat dispersion, moisture-wicking comfort, and quick-dry properties. Built-in sun block protects you even further from the sun’s harsh rays. Relaxed fit.

Columbia Women's Backcountry Bandit Shell

Columbia Women's Backcountry Bandit Shell Review

Columbia Women's Backcountry Bandit Shell Feature

  • Omni-Tech waterproof-breathable and fully seam sealed
  • 3-point Interchange system
  • 2-way comfort stretch panels
  • Drawcord adjustable hem
  • Waterproof zippers
A premium technical piece, Columbia's Backcountry Bandit shell is made from a blend of featherweight, three-layer fabric. Durable ripstop 3L graces high-abrasion spots like sleeves and shoulders, while stretch 3L on the core and back-shoulder panels delivers supreme mobility.
Omni-Tech waterproof-breathability technology reigns supreme throughout, with full seam sealing against stitching-line seepage. Waterproof zippers at the center front and hand pockets complete the watertight package. The jacket's long and lean cut slims and flatters, while a drop tail provides crucial extra coverage in the rear. Three-point interchange ability allows you to attach your favorite layering piece for added insulation. This product is part of Columbia's Titanium collection, which blends innovative design, fabrics, and technologies with an active fit for intense activity.

Columbia's Omni-Tech Waterproof Breathable technology helps you stay dry in wet conditions. It's a multi-layer weather protection system that keeps outside elements from getting in, while still allowing moisture vapors to move away from the skin. These products provide premium waterproof and breathable protection. Microporous membranes keep water from penetrating the fabric, yet allow perspiration to escape so you stay dry.

Omni-Tech's first layer of defense is called Omni-Shield, a technology that prevents most water from ever making contact with the inner layers. Next, a microporous membrane provides the primary and most impervious layer of defense by completely blocking the passage of water molecules into the item. Omni-Tech membranes are 100 percent air permeable, which means they allow moisture vapors to escape. This superior breathability keeps you dry from the inside out. Finally, lining materials protect the Omni-Tech membrane from underneath while adding additional wicking properties.

Product Features:

  • Shell: 100 percent nylon
  • 89 percent nylon, 11 percent elastane
